Yo ho ho! X marks the spot, Me Hearties. We've struck liquid gold with the 2018 Villa Del Lago Cabernet Sauvignon by Del Dotto. Did we find a rare gem? You decide.

A Sip for the Eyes: Nestled in the heart of St Helena in Napa Valley, Dave Del Dotto built the beautiful Piazza Del Dotto. As you approach this charming estate, you're greeted by sprawling vineyards backdropped by the Mayacamas Mountains. A piazza is an open square in Italy where folks gather. Designed in the style of an Italian courtyard, Del Dotto lined the paths with cobblestone and imported each piece of marble from Italy to showcase his Italian roots. It's like stepping into a scene from a romantic movie, where wine and laughter flow like the fountain in the courtyard.

The Piazza Del Dotto vineyard is not just about visual splendor; it's also a sensory playground. As you stroll through the vineyard, you're serenaded by the gentle rustling of leaves and the sweet aroma of ripening grapes. The air is infused with the scents of earth, sunshine, and the promise of extraordinary wines to come.

Out walks our Sommelier, Forester, armed with facts and tour guide prowess. He takes us into the Del Dotto caves that words cannot do justice. Take a look and insert your word here. Each piece of marble on the wall and the broken pieces on the floor masterfully placed to sculpt a Gian Lorenzo Bernini like cave to create his timeless tapestry of liquid brilliance.

A Sip for the Soul: Stealing sips from the French and American Oak barrels, where the wines were born, was intoxicating. Digging to have Forester pull a bottle of the rare unicorn, the 2018 Villa Del Lago Cabernet Sauvignon, was where we struck gold!
First off, 2018 Napa Cabs are the pinnacle of wines in the 2010s. With the moderate temperatures in the Spring and the long, slow growing season, grapes would fully ripen and develop the complex flavors and aromas. The harvest period had warm sunny days and cool nights allowing acidity while achieving optimal sugar levels. This balance is crucial to produce wines with vibrancy and depth. Finally, the late harvest was warm and finished the grapes to perfection.
The 2018 Villa Del Lago Cabernet Sauvignon was perfection in the perfect year, unveiling a symphony of flavors that will make your taste buds sing. Picture a blackberry orchestra playing alongside dark cherries, with a touch of vanilla as their conductor. It's a harmonious blend that deserves a standing ovation!
A Sip for any Pairing: The Villa Del Lago Cabernet Sauvignon is like the ultimate wingman, making any dish shine brighter. Whether you're grilling up a ribeye steak or roasting some veggies, this wine will elevate the flavors to a whole new level. It's a match made in culinary heaven!
Life is too short to drink mediocre wine. If you can, indulge in a bottle of Villa Del Lago, and feel the magic of finding a rare treasure.
